Grassy weeds

In garden beds

In paths and driveways

• Spray with Weed Weapon Extra Strength or Weed Weapon Rapid Action to quickly knock-down weeds 2-4 days. Kills right down to the roots.
• For long term control on paths and driveways use Weed Weapon Long Term. This will kill grass weeds and prevent regrowth for up to 12 months.

In lawns

• Grasses such as twitch (or couch), poa, paspalum and kikuyu can be spot sprayed with Weed Weapon Long Term or painted with Invade Gel. This will kill the grass weeds to the roots allowing fine lawn grass to fill in.
• For best results apply spray in Spring and Autumn when weeds and young and are growing.

• Grasses are monocotyledonous plants with narrow leaves growing from the base.
• Couch grass (or twitch) is amongst the most difficult of grass weeds to control because it is good at regrowing rapidly following disturbance and building up food reserves in the rhizomes again, ready for the next disturbance. Although it is found throughout the year, it tends to be less active over winter.
• Kikuyu is another common grass weed in lawns, flower beds and paths. It also spreads through creeping rhizomes and additionally has stolons (horizontal stems) that root at nodes where they touch the ground.
• Other common grass weeds include paspalum and poa.
• Glyphosate, as inWeed Weapon, is the best trans-located herbicide to kill these weeds. It should be applied when each plant has produced at least 3-4 leaves, otherwise sugars may be moving out of the rhizome to help establishment of the leaves, resulting in poor movement of the herbicide to the rhizomes.
